Eight Ecommerce Gaps Where the Rival Count Runs 4 to 35
Eight ecommerce gaps on GapMine, each asked for by 4 or more distinct people. Our scan found as few as 4 rivals shipping against one of the 8 cards, inside a single sector.
We pulled the ecommerce gaps in GapMine that at least four distinct people asked for in public. Eight are below. Demand barely moves across them: the quietest ask has four distinct askers, the loudest has ten. Supply moves a lot. The rival counts for those same eight cards run from 4 to 35, same sector, same kind of buyer. That spread is the only number here that should change which one you build.
| Gap | People asking | Rivals shipping | What they said |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon Ads Automation | 10 people | 17 rivals shipping | "they all kinda sound the same" |
| Ecommerce Product Photo Tools | 8 people | 18 rivals shipping | "could get expensive quickly" |
| Shopify Sales Conversion Fix | 8 people | 19 rivals shipping | "add to cart rate is way lower" |
| Amazon Listing Optimizer | 7 people | 22 rivals shipping | "losing days every time" |
| Global payment solutions | 7 people | 29 rivals shipping | "manually sending invoices" |
| WooCommerce Inventory Manager | 5 people | 35 rivals shipping | "larger inventory buys" |
| WooCommerce Mobile Order App | 4 people | 7 rivals shipping | "checkout flow in one place" |
| WooCommerce Product Search | 4 people | 4 rivals shipping | "'search is broken' is the theme" |
The loud end
The biggest ask here is one you should probably skip. Amazon ads automation drew 10 people and 17 rivals shipping. One of them wrote: "i keep seeing names thrown around (adtomic, perpetua, scale insights, quartile … but they all kinda sound the same after a while and i don't wanna drop money on a subscription that just does what i'm already doing". A buyer who can recite four products from memory and still won't pay is not describing an empty market.
Product photo tools drew 8 people and 18 rivals shipping. The complaint has moved past capability: "I've found that AI can remove backgrounds well, and add my product to an attractive background, but I can see how this could get expensive quickly". Per-image billing is what they want gone.
Shopify conversion help drew 8 people and 19 rivals shipping. "been running my store for about 6 months. traffic is decent from tiktok but my add to cart rate is way lower than i expected." They want a diagnosis of their own store. Most of what ships is a dashboard that hands the diagnosis back to them.
Amazon listing optimization drew 7 people and 22 rivals shipping. The cost named is time, not money: "my approach feels embarrassingly inefficient and I can't afford to keep losing days every time this happens".
Global payment and invoicing drew 7 people and 29 rivals shipping. "I'm tired of manually sending invoices and reminding clients to pay every month." Payment reminders are a solved feature in dozens of products, which is roughly what 29 rivals shipping means.
The thin end
WooCommerce inventory management drew 5 people and 35 rivals shipping, the most crowded card here. Being platform-specific bought it nothing.
WooCommerce mobile orders drew 4 people and 7 rivals shipping. The ask is about scope: "a solution that covers most of the checkout and post-checkout flow in one place".
WooCommerce product search is the thinnest card in this set: 4 people and 4 rivals shipping. One reply already does the support work for you: "a lot of 'search is broken' posts are actually the theme showing the wrong template/post-meta on the results page (author names, dates, weird layout), not the search itself".
What the spread is telling you
Demand size sorted these badly. The 4-person asks and the 10-person asks look identical from outside. What separated them was how specific the ask got about where the work happens. Generic store problems (ads, photos, conversion, listings, payments) all came back at 17 or higher. The platform-level asks split: inventory is picked over, search and mobile orders are not. "Build for one platform" is not a strategy on its own. It pays only where the scan is thin too, so check card by card.
We saw the same thing in creator tools, where the tools already exist and people kept asking, and it sits next to our read on asks that name their platform.
Honest limits
As of 2026-11-07, GapMine tracks 1,230 displayable gaps, 182 of them in ecommerce, and only 171 of the 1,230 have been asked for by 4 or more distinct people. So a 4-person ask is unusual in this dataset. It is still 4 people, and nobody should read it as a market size.
Our rival scan has a recall ceiling. It counts what it found, so a rival count of 4 means we found 4, not that only 4 exist. As of 2026-11-07, 927 of the 1,230 tracked gaps sit at 10 or more rivals shipping, so the scan is not shy about finding products. A low number still deserves your own hour of searching before you commit a quarter to it.
Counts are a snapshot of 2026-11-07. Demand is distinct authors, not upvotes: one person posting five times is one person. Quotes are trimmed to the clause carrying the ask.
